EXHIBITS BY INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS
- The Hunterdon County Library exhibition space is intended to augment its cultural, educational, and civic role in the community. The library reserves the right to select material to assure its appropriateness for viewing by the diverse populations, age groups and interests of library patrons. Samples are required prior to booking approval.
- Items may be offered for sale but are limited to those created by the exhibiting artist/craftsperson. If the exhibitor wishes, they may provide a list of the prices for items on exhibit. This information must be on one list, no larger than 8 ½” x 11”, which will be displayed near the exhibit. No individual price tags are permitted. Exhibitors may provide brochures or cards for the public but displays may not be used for advertising or commercial purposes. Sales are the sole responsibility of the exhibitor.
- Exhibit materials may not be removed by the exhibitor for any reason before the exhibit is scheduled to end. This includes any pieces that the artist may have sold.
- Exhibits will be displayed for a period of one (1) calendar month. However, the requirements of the Library take precedence over those of the exhibitors. Should the Library require display/exhibit facilities for its own use, and that use might conflict with exhibitors, the Library will provide a minimum of seven (7) days’ notice to the exhibitor.
- Exhibits are to be installed and removed on the agreed dates and will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
- Artwork MUST be framed or matted with provision for hanging. Identification of the exhibitor and any sponsor must be included in the display.
- Information for promotion must be submitted four weeks in advance.
- Potential exhibitors must complete an application and a release form before the Library will consider any exhibit or display. No installations are permitted without authorization of the Library.
- Preference for exhibit space will be given to residents of Hunterdon County.
- Permission to place exhibits in the library in no way implies sponsorship of an exhibitor or endorsement of exhibit contents.
- The Library and its staff, the Library Commission, and the County of Hunterdon are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to any exhibit/display or any part thereof.
- Failure to comply with these rules may result in denial of future exhibit/display privileges.
