Sublimation Print Set-up 

Save the file as a PDF. In Canva it allows you to add crop marks which can be helpful for designs that aren’t full bleed and need to be centered.  The library computers automatically save files to the downloads folder.  If you are printing on textile (soft surface) the teflon pillows help to avoid lines. The size of the teflon pillow should be factored in when printing. See below :) 

Connect the library laptop to the Epson SC-F570 with the USB cord 

Turn on the Epson printer. The pop-up display on top left of the printer has a button, the light to the left turns blue when it is on. 

Open up Adobe Reader on the desktop of a library computer 

Chose the hamburger next to Menu in the top left corner on the home page of Adobe Reader 

Chose print, about half-way down the drop-down menu 

Chose the Epson SC-F500 Series printer in the top left of the drop-down menu 

Click on properties 

If you are printing on a 8.5 x 11 sheet  

• In the Box that says Settings, Click the down arrow and choose Sublimation Sheet

• All other settings don’t need to change 

• Click ok 

• A Print Preview page will show. Your design will be a mirror image.  

• At the Printer - Go to the Pop-up Screen on the top of the printer 

• Tap on Paper Setting on the Touch Screen 

• Tap on Auto Sheet Feeder and follow the prompt instructions for setting up a sheet of paper on the machine: 

• Open the clear top 

• Pull up the paper support 

• The print side faces front. The print side is whiter than the back. If you aren’t sure bend the sheet to see the two sides together. It becomes more obvious which side is whiter. 

• Fit the paper in the edge guides 

• Back at the computer click on print at the top right of the preview window.  

• The printer holds the finished print, it won’t drop on the floor. When it’s done printing - do not pull before it is done printing! - gently remove from the printer.  

If you are printing on Roll Paper

• In the Box that says Settings, Click the down arrow and choose either 17" roll or 24" roll (depending on which size you are using)

• All other settings don’t need to change 

• Click ok at the bottom

• A Print Preview page will show. Your design will be a mirror image.  

• Click ok at the bottom    

• Check that actual size is chosen in Page Size and Handling     

• Click on Print in the lower right 

• If it says not ready turn on the printer :) 

• A Print Preview page will show. To save paper scroll to the bottom of the pop-up and chose Save Roll paper. 

• All other settings are set 

• Click on print at the top 

• The printer holds the finished print, it won’t drop on the floor. When it’s done printing gently remove it from the printer. Please do not pull the paper, if it is stuck ask a staff member for assistance.

Sublimating on soft textiles – using the teflon pillows to avoid lines. 

Ask for the teflon pillows and find the one that is closest to the size of the design but smaller. You want the image plus additional white space on the printed design so that the edges of your print go down the sides of the pillow.  The pillow pushes your design up
