The Hunterdon County Library is looking for students in grades 7-12 who would like to volunteer
at the library. Participating branches (Headquarters, North County, and South County) are
looking for individuals interested in serving their community while working to build a thriving teen
presence at the library. Jobs will range from helping with programs for children, preparing craft
projects, and creating displays, to working with librarians to perform tasks that will improve
library services to teens.
We understand that teens have very busy schedules; in an effort to work with those who’d like
to serve, volunteer hours will be posted on a need basis and most assignments will not require
large commitments of time. Job postings will be available at www.hclibrary.us on the “Teens” page.
A link to the application is provided on this page. All applications and reference surveys can be
returned to mriou@hclibrary.us or in person to either of the three branches listed above.
Applicants will be notified within two weeks if they have been chosen as a Hunterdon County
Library Volunteer. Once accepted, teens will receive a welcome message with an outline of
how the program works and what will be expected of them.
Teen Librarian, Maryjean Riou, is available to answer any questions. Please email
mriou@hclibrary.us with questions or concerns.
If interested in a job please make sure to have a volunteer application on file with the teen librarian and email Maryjean at mriou@hclibrary.us. Any questions regarding duties of the job please email or call (908) 788-1432 and ask for Maryjean.
We can't wait to work with you!
